Tempe Cares 2014
What: One-day community project focused on cleaning up Tempe’s neighborhoods, schools, and parks. Volunteers of all ages and skill sets join together to give back to the community.
When: Saturday, March 1st beginning at 8am to 12noon (breakfast and lunch included.)
Where: This year’s event will focus on the LoPiano Bosque Habitat, just north of the 202 Freeway between College & Mill. The Habitat is a 13-acre site formed in 1993 through a collaborative effort of volunteers from 26 schools. It is not only an area that can be used for educating students on the natural desert habitat, but a place where you can walk, bike, and ride horses. The Habitat is in critical need of removing trash and debris, re-establishing rock-lined trails, and removing non-native invasive plants.
